This Jason Dean called me 3 times today, insisting that he was from the Dept of Legal Affairs regarding the Treasury. He said that there is a Judgment out on my name (he had my name correct). I asked for more information (I knew it was a scam b/c the IRS/Treasury Dept doesn't coldcall you--ever!). He said, "You should have gotten the Judgment in the mail by now". I said, "Really? I didn't........" I said, "Give me the name and # of your Dept Head and I'll call them back". They did and that was a scam too (all foreign people--can't tell if they're from India or not). I laughed when I spoke to this direct dept x201 Jason Dean and hung up and said, "You're not from any U.S. Dept, sir." He got very mad. Two minutes later I received a call from the SAME # 718-374-6038, saying he was the "top Dept Head of the Treasury" and I said, "Oh my, that sounds serious. What do you need from me?" He said, "There is an arrest warrant out right now with your name. I just need some information from you." I asked what information and he said he needed my attorney's name, and I said, "That's me. I'd be pro-se. I'm an attorney," at which time he said, "Uhoh!" and hung up! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was trying to see what information they were attempting to extract, since they knew my telephone # and my name. The Treasury never asks for your address (they have it!), and they don't send out a "warrant". Why would they need your attorney's name? I'm not sure what they were after, or if they were just trying to extend the call and get more information out of you, but it irked me. TERRIBLE PEOPLE. I hope they blow themselves up, over there!
The Caller stated he was from the US Treasury Department and I was having legal actions started against me. I told him I thought this is scam, sned me the legal documents and he hung up.
