Got multiple calls, 2-3 x/day from DF King from rotating phone numbers so couldn't block the calls. Finally realized they were a company calling for proxy votes and I called Fidelity and took my name off their phone notification list and the calls have stopped. So annoying.
I received calls daily from this number during time when nobody is at home and have been blocking the multiple numbers.
However, today I received a letter stating URGENT PROXY VOTING REQUEST from Fidelity. An attached booklet includes the following:
"Who is D.F. King & Co., Inc.?
D.F. King is a third party proxy vendor that Fidelity hires to call shareholders and record proxy votes. To hold a shareholder meeting, quorum must be reached. If a quorum is not attained, the meeting may adjourn to a future date. Fidelity attempts to reach shareholders via multiple mailings to remind them to cast their vote. As the meeting approaches, phone calls may be made to clients who have not yet voted their shares so that the shareholder meeting does not have to be postponed.
Voting your shares immediately will help minimize additional solicitation expenses and prevent the need to make a call to you to solicit your vote."
So, just go find the letter Fidelity has sent you, send in your vote and get it over.
Get calls from this number. No message left. When I do pick up it tells me they are calling to get me to Vote my LORD ABBOTT Stock Proxey votes. Whe I call back that number (718 484-6251), Operator says "This number has been disconnected"
I first receive calls (numerous) from this area code 718 484 6251; perhaps a dozen or more. Then each call is followed by "name unavailable" 000 000 0000.
After getting repeated calls from DF King and Lord Abbett FDS without any messages for months, I was home when they called and found out its related to a Wells Fargo Advisors fund in the Lord Abbett Family of Funds. Coincidentally I had an envelope in the mail from Wells Fargo with a reminder which confirmed what the caller said. After reading the online documentation, it seems that if you ignore the calls you'll both keep getting them until the meeting on 11/5/15 and you'll be paying for those calls b/c your funds are paying for the solicitation costs. I voted online and fingers are crossed the calls stop.
