This number called our business today at 1051 hours. Caller ID said "OCHZIFF" whatever the heck that's supposed to mean. Because I knew it was a scammer/spammer, I picked up the phone but said nothing. There was a long moment of silence and then boiler room noise as someone picked up on the call. A woman with a very thick accent asked for the owner of the business by first name (because they're buddies, don't you know?) I told her he doesn't work in the office, he works on the road, was there something I could do for her? She declined and disconnected. But I'm sure she'll call, call again because that's what scammers do. What the fool obviously doesn't realize is that they will always have to go through me, and if you annoy me, you're NEVER going to talk to the boss. Plus, I make many of the business decisions so they're really barking up the wrong tree by dismissing me.
This number calls at the lunch hour, repeatedly, asking for the business owner. They do not speak right away, and you hear a click on the line and many voices in the background, which indicates to me that they are using an auto-dialer and are simply connected to our number. When advised that the "owner" is not available, but I would be happy to take a message, the woman with a foreign accent advises that this is about a business matter and she will call back. We are a medical facility and cannot block unwanted numbers, but these type calls waste my time and theirs. And they prevent a caller with a medical reason from reaching us.
