the 718-780-3153 called my cell asking for my husband. when told that he wasn't here, she gave me a message that he was to call EWW Associates at 855 747 8140 and a case number 1016585
this is a new number but the same old scam - they left a message before - at 3:30 on a Friday that it was the final message and he would be served to go to court if not managed that day. Which of course was over two weeks ago and still no one has served him.
I think the one thing all of us has in common is that our identities or at last part of them have been stolen. I am paying a credit monitoring service to stop thieves from applying for credit cards, but the phone scammers are hard to get rid of. I block every number and a few then begin to show up as all "0"s, 000-000-0000. It's terrible and I cannot change my number for business purposes. Any ideas out there? Also, anyone who is getting these calls check your credit report NOW, if you haven't already. Good luck and let's try to rid the world of these jerks! I'm buying the loudest whistle I can find the next time I'm out shopping to blow their ear drums out!
You're right; I'd bet a million this is from your identity being stolen, or someone trying to steal it. I had no problems with things like this until my identity was stolen. Try to think back and remember if someone had access to your purse, or maybe you lost your purse or driver's license. My story is; it is most likely one of my 2 ex-husbands' wife and/or girlfriend. Also, I'm dumb enough to throw away documents without shredding them. These jerks steal offers for credit cards from your mailbox as well and once it starts the phone calls are hard to get rid of. Change your number if you can.
