Lately been getting these sort of calls in groups or 3 or 4 numbers...all calling and ringing the phone a couple of times...a pause, then same again from another number...all in less than a single minute.
12:01 pm - just recd a call from a man (with a heavy accent) reading from a script (repeated info-same words-three times) telling me that he worked as a contractor for Windows-needed accesss to my computer (which wasn't on) saying I was having difficulty logging on because my computer had many viruses-he would correct for me-I told him that I needed contact # for Windows because he was a scammer-said he would give me # and then the line went dead!
I have and ad on Craigslist for an old car and I got a call from a guy with real heavy accent who I couldnt undersand, and he wanted me to take pics and send to his email. I got frustrated and hung up. He called back on different number from Austin, and continuedtalking but I really dont know what his point was. He said he would call back tomorow.
An Asian sounding man said that he was calling on behalf of Microsoft. I should turn on my computer so that he could give me information that could save my computer from a virus. I said that I could not do that because there are too many phone scams. I also said that I doubt that "Microsoft" would be having someone call people. He said that if I didn't care about my computer that he couldn't help me. I said no thanks & hung up. I then blocked the number that he was calling from.
