Got a call from this number today (4/26/2017) at around 11 AM. Caller ID showed up as "GREEN 1-719-280-4007". Let it roll thru to voice mail. They didn't leave any message. One strike, and you're out! Added the number to my phone's Call Block List.
I'd already blocked this number so it didn't ring. Caller ID this time said "Green." Until the govt. forces the phone companies to crack down on these jerks, we're pretty defenseless. Infuriating to be constantly harrassed in my own home on the phone I pay for and keep for security reasons.
Well, it isn't working for a lot of us. For starters, if an entity spoofs area codes, numbers, and caller ids, using variations on all of the above to initiate unwanted and deceptive communication, such activity must be detectable and eliminatable. At some point hiding behind these "common carrier" rules will be unveiled as facilitative towards scammers.
