"Alex Bishop" left a message saying their working on a case involving my name and social security number. A legal document has been sent to my home requiring immediate attention but they haven't heard from me. I need to call them immediately or legal action will be taken.
I first got a call from a woman named Shirley Carmichael stating she was a private investigator and that she needed to speak to my husband regarding a legal matter. Her number was different, it was 720-501-4698. She stated that a case was being downloaded in our county. To prevent these allegations from being filed we needed to return her call. So I called, but she told me the allegations that were going to be filed against my husband were felony charges and felony arrest warrants would be issued. She said she was representing a "parent company" that over saw 300+ pay day/short term loans. Told me that to keep the allegations from being filed the day I spoke with her she wanted me to Western Union her a settlement payment. If I could not pay the full amount then she was willing to set up a payment arrangement as long as I sent a specific amount by Western Union that day. Needless to say I did not do it after speaking with the local sheriff's department. The very next day she left me another voicemail.
Then today I have received 2 phone calls from a man named John Roberts stating he was with PB Associates and that my husband has a legal case regarding fraud with his name, social, and bank account. Stated that we were to stop doing whatever it was we were doing and call him now. That we spoke with a representative to set up payments and did not follow through so he wanted to know if we are serious or just playing a bad cruel joke. His second call he was even more demanding and again stated we needed to stop what we were doing and call him now so he can get our side of the story....then even said to stop doing every damn thing at the very end of the message.
First off if you don't call and threaten to have my husband arrested on felony charges unless we pay a settlement amount. You don't call me and demand me to stop whatever I am doing and even curse like I am beneath you.
If any company has a case against you for defaulting on a loan then they will go through the legal system to file a civil case against you, send the paperwork as registered mail, give you a chance to settle, and if you don't then they will garner your wages. No one is going to call you with a heads up and say "Oh by the way we have a case against you and we are going to issue a felony arrest warrant unless you pay so much money."
I am getting the same calls that everyone mentioned. I know I do not owe anyone because I pay all of my bills. How many numbers do they have? I keep blocking the numbers and they call on another number saying this is my last chance to settle this case. I have not received anything in the mail so I am not stupid enough to send some fool on the phone my hard earned money. Just wish they would stop calling me everyday. Feel like changing my phone number but I've had this number for many years and don't want to change it. I need a solution to this problem.
