Asked to speak with the owner by name. When asked what the call regarded he said future business. Got a very hateful tone. I advised him that we do not accept solicitation calls he said not a solicitation and became irate. Advised him to remove our company from his list and he became enraged. I disconnected call at that point
A women called on behalf of Steven Timas and Associates, caller ID showed IDS 702-214-2740, so not a local phone number. Claimed that they have been working with many other companies that do the same work as our company (there aren't many) on marketing, increasing profits, increasing customers, etc. Very insistent on setting up an appointment despite not being able to provide any specific information on their company. She said someone would be here tomorrow at 1:00 pm, we'll see if anyone shows up. I can tell someone I'm not interested to their face.
Just to be clear-- I had no intention of doing anything with IDS except waste their time. The person from IDS showed up at 10:30 am instead of 1:00 pm. "Steven Timas" was not the person that showed up, it was someone else with a very generic forgettable name. I asked him to leave whatever information he had for me and his business card, but he said he only left this information for his "clients". I was told over the phone that he had been working with many companies doing similar work as ours, when I asked him about this, he responding with very generic standard answers that provided absolutely no useful information. When pressed further, he became ornery when he became aware that his "appointment" was going nowhere. He jotted down this website www.intl-dev.com in case I wanted more information. I asked him to take us off of whatever lists IDS was working from, he grumbled something as he left.
caller called our work #, asked for someone, i said he was not there, who is this? he replied Derryl from IDS, I asked if I can take a msg? Darryl asked when he will be back, i said i can help him, this is a business, but he is gone for a few weeks on vacation, then the guy slammed the phone down and hung up...
Called and asked for the president by name. Told him he wasn't in asked to take a message and he said no. THEN he called right back again (trying to get a different person I presume) and being I am the receptionist I got the call. He asked for the president again, I told him that he had just called and that the president still wasn't available. Offered again to take a message. He again said no.
