On Caller ID, if you see a name and/or number that you don't recognize or that makes no sense, do not pick up the call!!!! If you do pick up the call, and you are advised to push a number, do not push any buttons; hang up immediately! If you push a number, they know they have a live number, and you will be on their "sucker list" forever! Report all such calls to the FCC. Read the forums here about how such reports are producing results.
They called me all the time too. I simply blocked them. Anyone with a smart phone can block the call. Download call control app. I use the free version and it's AWESOME!!! I get a call, I block it... they never bother me again. If I make a mistake and block a number I want to hear from, I can unblock it. If I don't know the number I blocked, it can go to voicemail... if the person REALLY is legitimate and wants to reach you, they will leave a message. Then, you can decide to keep the number on the block list or not.
Call Control also has a community blacklist with numbers from previously known scammers, harassment callers and telemarketers. Those calls will not even make it to you.
I just got a call from the same number and it was an man with a very heavy India accent and I pissed him off, that he said he knows where I live and that he is coming to rape me then kill me. I told him to go to hell!!
