I am so glad that I googled this number (720-285-4480). They said pretty much the same thing to me that they've said to everyone else. "I'll pay the full amount, plus extra for shipping overseas to a cousin as a gift. And we'll use PayPal, okay." Who buys their cousin a wedding dress as a gift? So I let them know that I'm on to them and will be turning them in.
I received the same offer from a Craigslist item listed for sale. Responded to me by text and offered over twice the asking price. Sender wants my papal info so money can transfer. Said they want to ship overseas as a gift to a cousin. Message also says "sent from my iPhone" although the iPhone doesn't usually include that info in a text, plus I have an iPhone and iPhone-to-iPhone texts are blue and gray. This text was green and probably came from a computer, not a phone. I told them i was an officer working with Mail and Wire Fraud and would see them soon. lol - Human garbage. I wish the law were more diligent in shutting these jerks down.
I recieved a text from this number and it is the exact same story that everyone else has told. Has a cousin overseas wants me to ship it as a gift for a cousin. all of the texts end in -sent from iphone, which iphones dont say that. I gave my email, then THANK GOD, realized it was the wrong one that is no longer connected to my paypal account. I then, out of curiosity, googled the number and found all of this. I informed the buyer he could send me a check, then said i'm not comfortable and to forget everything. He asked what that was supposed to mean and I flat out told him "google your number, your all over the internet. it's a scam. i'm good. do not text me again.
Yes I got the same message yesterday about a wedding dress. Wanted to give me extra for shipping costs to a cousin "oversea". Persistent about using a paypal account and the messages all ended in -sent from Iphone (I have an Iphone as well). I made it clear in my message I did NOT want to sell the dress, so I had records.
