I too received automated call from this number, when I called back I spoke to a Rachael Gerson (Indian accent) who identified herself as an IRS employee with a badge ID number of IRM2645. She informed me that an arrest warrant would be issued within 45 minutes if I did not pay my outstanding balance of $4718 for Mistakes over the last five years of my tax returns. I was told I would have to make an EFTPS payment which stands for electronic Federal tax payment service as she noted. She also noted that a federal agent would come to my home after I paid the money to deliver the documents. I told her to issue the warrant for my arrest and I would be waiting here with my lawyer, she tried to persuade me into making a payment and as soon as I said I didn't have any money she then hung up. Total scam
I got the same female robotic message asking to call back. A guy with a thick Indian accent claimed his name was Officer Joe Nelson with IRM# 0110. He started asking me for information to look up my account. I refused to give it to him. He claimed this was my last warning. I told him that he was full of it and a scammer since I had never received any call before and said there was no way in hell his name was Joe Nelson with that accent. He hung up on me. I hope he chokes on his curry tonight!
I received a voice mesage from the above number with the same speil that others received...claiming to be an IRSAgent. Spoke with a foreign accent. He started asking questions, so I hung up on him...hre was very annoying.
Unfortunately, we receive WAY TOO MANY calls like this, all showing on our CID as: "Wireless Caller", and leaving automated messages that the IRS is filing charges against us-- what a SCAM!!! First of all, IF it were truly the IRS, I highly doubt that they would CALL people in regard to legal matters, and they most certainly would NOT use a cell phone! It is more likely that people would be contacted via Certified Mail, and lawyers would be involved! FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS, OR FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS TO CALL THEM BACK! It's a shame that there isn't some type of agency to which the public can report these callers, so that fines could be imposed on the scammers, and then the money collected could be given to all of us who have received and reported the ANNOYING calls!
