Caller ID = "Donor Relations." When I answered, man asked for "Christopher." When I said you have a wrong number, he hung up. This had scam written all over it, but I felt like sparring with one of these jerks tonight.
The 2nd time I got the call. This time, I picked-up. Supposed to be a charity. I'm not sure if it was a new robotic automated system. I told him I don't give to new charities because they're more about putting money in the pocket of the creator than the actual charity. Came back with something like "I understand". Sounded too generic and too automated. It then switched to another part of a script without changing tone. As a programmer, I could do this stuff in my sleep: a simple voice recognition module, a database of questions with scripted answers. Easy.
Let me add that if this was an actual charity, a google search would bring-up the phone number of the charity. This phone number doesn't. You just get a long list of reverse lookup services.
