Common scamming technique directed to business owners  by these tax preparation firms.

Cold call you about your Form 941, which reports employee withholding and so forth and tries to tell you there is a problem with it.

There's no way they could know that information since the 941 Forms are not a public record.

It's true they sometimes have access to liens which are recorded an the County Recorders Office and are public records, but that's it.

Simply ignore and block these sorts of  calls.

If  there's is a problem , with the Form 941 or any tax reporting form, the IRS will send you something in writing by US mail.

Extremely rude, asked for the owner, said he would call back some other time as I was saying no he hung up. Called him back at the number he called from, asked to be taken off of the call list and he said NO and hung up!

This number has been calling me the past few days with no message. Finally left a message today. He said is Name was Russell with The Phoenix Group and was calling about a federal assessment that was filed on 04/20/17. No idea what he was talking about.
