Such a simple thing that you can't get people to do. If a person HAS to answer unknown numbers that should be the first words out of you. When they ask for 'so - and - so', the reply should be 'Who is calling please'. It's your phone & they called you. Great habit to get into & glad you pointed it out.
Comes up as an I....asked for individual of house by name with robo voice. Once you speak, it clicks to a real person who then asks for your name again. I hung up...totally a scam, sales call, etc.
I do the same thing if an unknown caller asks for me by name. It throws them off. I only answer known numbers unless I'm expecting a call and don't know the number they will be calling from, and it doesn't show on caller ID. Once in awhile a scammer catches me answering and when I ask who's calling they sometimes ask if it's me by name. I repeat my question until they either hang up or tell me who it is. If it's an unwanted call I tell them to remove me from their call list and that I am on the No Call List. If they say it's a survey, political call or charity I tell them "I said to remove me from your call list" and that it's rude to call and disturb people, and they could be waking a new mother up who is napping, or an elderly person napping or who has trouble getting to the phone, or someone who is sick and waiting for a call from theri doctor, or blah blah blah. By that time they have either hung up or said they will remove me and hang up.
