I was looking at places to rent and ended up re routed to a site for rent to own at an affordable rate. I started filling it out until it asked for my credit report, at which time I exited the site. Before I even left the page I got a phone call from this number. I asked what the company was called and he said Lexington Law Firm, and that they help you clean up your credit and buy a home. I told him no thank you. I called the number back and the recording said American Rent to Own. I looked up both companies, Lexington is definitely a scam with a lot of negative reports against them and I could not find anything on American Rent to Own. Now I keep receiving texts from them about rent to own and in order to opt out I have to text STOP and possible pay a fee. How do you stop creeps and crooks like this, why should I have to pay to make them STOP harassing me. What can I do?
From a website that wants to charge you a monthly fee to look at fmls listings for owner financed homes. Blocked them and they call with another similar number so I keep blocking them. I told the guy I spoke to I was reporting him as I had opted out several times and that I was recording convo. They finally went away.
