Looked online for rental property in my area and wound up on a site for Rent To Own. As SOON as I entered my phone number and clicked to the next screen, I received a call which I didn't answer. I closed out of the website when they required me to request a credit report through them. Its a scam, don't answer them. I replied "stop" to their texts and they have begun calling with a different number.
It makes me so annoyed when you think you are signing up for something legit and you're not. Be careful and pay attention so you usually spot them pretty quickly, the calls will start coming iimmediately and frequently, it sounds like you are talking to a real person, but say something crazy and repeat yourself you will find you a talking with a robot caller. This is Lexington Law trying to make money off of you for something you can do yourself get a better credit score. Listen get educated go to the library, order a credit book from Amazon, go to your bank or credit union and tell them you want a better credit score what can they do to help. Get online find a Bank that has a credit builder loan, get a secured loan from a credit union, get a secured credit card from a credit union or bank but find one that will unsecure it and send you your deposit back with good ontime payment, go to YouTube look up information you will be surprised by what you find, you don't need Lexington Law! They will not tell you that legally you don't have to pay a collection agency anything except what they paid for your debt which is pennies on the dollar, it's against the law for them to make a profit on your debt know your rights read what the fair credit report act is, get them and the BBB involved and watch how quickly they removed that debt to get rid of you. By law they must verify that is your debt and they can't and won't, NEVER do a dispute online always send it in the build a paper trail.
