Today, I received a call from this number as I did several months ago. They said they were seeking donations for the Illinois State Police widows.
Folks, I am a retired law enforcement officer in Illinois. This caller is NOT legitimate. There are several state and local agencies which provide generous benefits to survivors...be they widows OR widowers.
This is a scam by people illegally claiming to represent the Illinois State Police.
DO NOT give these PEOPLE MONEY. Nor any PERSONAL INFORMATION. DO NOT give them your credit card information.
