There is a guy by the name of Matt from this debt collection agency who leaves messages with a very wrong tone on my answering machine.If he know my number then he should also know my address therefor, If I owe any debt out there,he can send the paper work to me as opposed to calling and threatening..
This is a legit debt on my part (as far as I can tell)...however, they also contacted my bankruptcy attorney and one of the paralegals told them to knock it off. They didn't.
I am constantly getting phone calls for a Margie Jackson. For the past 10 years I have been getting phone calls from various collection agencies for this person. I am sick to death of it. The calls stop for a few weeks, then they start up again. Each time they promise not to call anymore then they pass my number onto another collection agency and the cycle begins again.
Some of these outfits retrieve "Zombie debts"; debts previously dismissed, found to be fraudulent or even a debt you paid before; and will try to get payment again. Don't pay anything the company says you owe without verification. If you do owe it, pay it to your original creditor. Don't give these blood suckers anything. The original creditor (if you owe it) will get pennies on the dollar plus the collection agency will keep at you to pay additional charges. They will collect the original debt and keep tacking on fees to get even more.
This guy called this morning, now saying his name is Rico saying he was with a debt collection company and asked me to confirm my date of birth. Did not give him any info and he got angry and hung up. Looks like he has been doing this for 6 years from the looks of these posts!
