If you get calls that:
1. Are hiding the identity of the caller.
2. Don't leave a message.
3. Don't answer or give you an invalid number message if you call back.
-- You can safely assume the caller is up to no good, that they are probably a scammer using a spoofed number. Ignore and block the calls. Knowing who called is really not much of a prize, but by blocking them, you are taking back your power and your phone.
-- Calling back is never a good idea, nor is talking to crooks. They get the idea that if you dumb enough to call back an unknown number, that you can be tricked and scammed with ease. Sorry to be blunt, but that is how the crooks work.
This number appeared on my caller ID as an OUTGOING call when no one was here to place any calls. This number just called me. "Jenny" said she was from magazine periodicals and I had won a sweepstakes, wanted to confirm that I had certain credit cards. The whole thing sounds illegal as **** to me and I am reporting to the authorities.
this number is calling me over and over sick of it who are they and it is always a recording and it says to press 1 if i have gotten this call in error so i do that and they call back. pain in the butt
They are selling magazine subscriptions - She (your Aunt) may or may not have gotten a magazine subscription in the past and even if she cancelled they seem to continuously call. I had magazine subscriptions through them, called and sent written confirmation of my cancellation in March. They called me 7 times in one day.
