Receive calls on my cell phone. They always ask for Ashley. I told them no one at this number with that name and to remove my number. They said they would, but the calls keep coming. Thought they might be trying to locate someone who hasn't paid back a student loan. Very irritating for sure.

What good is the DoNotCall and why are robocalls even permitted by the cell carriers?
I'm starting to think that calls from these numbers are test calls to make sure the line is active. An old insurance company of mine informed me they had a data breach earlier in the year and my info like my name and phone number were compromised. I get spam texts with my name on them too. These calls make sure the numbers are active, so that they can send you spam texts.
