The reason the calls keep coming is simple. Insurers that cover Medicare Advantage patients receive payments from Medicare based on the number of "diagnostic codes" in the patient's file. Insurers want to collect information to report additional diagnostic codes to Medicare to increase the payment that Medicare makes to the insurance company. Some of us remember a few years ago when Humana launched a similar program through which it wanted to send a case manager into each person's home to conduct a medical exam, evaluate the individual's overall health and living situation. In that case the contractor that had been hired to provide this service told insurance company executives at an industry meeting ( acccording to reports in the industry press) that insurers were "leaving money on the table" by not reporting more diagnostic codes, which the contractor proposed to find. There seem to have been many complaints about this proposed intrusion, including mine, and it appears that this new telephone counseling initiative replaces that effort. I have looked over the program website and determined that I do not need any of the services that are being offered since I am robustly active, have a large supportive family and excellent immediate access to my doctors' office if I need assistance or have questions. I have told several callers this and asked that the calls stop. They have not stopped. The service may indeed be useful for some people, however it also seems that the calls should stop when one asks that they stop. I have to conclude that they do not stop because in addition to offering help to individuals this is an activity that can also increase insurance company revenue.
we were getting the same phone call and they also said they were from Humana and it turned out to be a fraudulent call . We called Humana and they told us that the phone number being used was not one of their phone numbers . We called our broker and reported the phone number to him also . If you want these phone calls to stop call Direct and talk to a real person from Humana . This call came everyday to us at 8:40 am . After we reported it to Humana they did stop . Today we got another call and if they call the rest of this week we will call Humana again . The thing is our doctors nurse did call and check on my husband about 2 weeks afters his surgery . We know her and after her call we questioned the othes phone calls we were getting . This is what set us onto the fraudulent calls . Check out these calls . REPORT to HUMANA tell them you do not want these calls . The new phone call this morning was a different phone number than the original number we reported .
Every time they have called me, they have left a message... The case worker assigned to me, (don't think he is a nurse), has always left a message with a call back number and a extension... If the person calling from humana doesn't leave a message, I would suggest you call back and tell somebody important about the lack of messages left..
You and your team continued to harass and annoy people that are elderly. Someone I know personally has tried repeatedly to stop your harassing calls, but cannot. She told her very competent family doctor who is a specialized internal medicine physician to assist her in stopping the phone calls. He said that he would attempt to stop the unwanted phone calls. She contacted Humana several times and said that she did not want to answer to any Humana doctor or nurse, and she did not want any visits from any of them. Humana's representative told her that the people that are calling her are soliciting her service for reimbursement by Humana, and it is not a necessary part of their program. I checked repeatedly on the telephone numbers and they were telemarking numbers. The harassing 'nurses' twists their words with her and did not make it clear to her that they wanted to check on her repeatedly, possibly with intention to slander people that are her care givers, and her family doctor (possibly with intention to counter her doctor's care for her) just to pocket some cash. Regardless of what we have told you and your team you continue to call and twist your words to imply you are attempting to help her with a one-time reveal about programs, etc. that are connected with Humana. I consider your calls as harassment. If you continue to infer that I am an abusive person I will contact the appropriate authorities about your harassing calls.
So why does HUMANA keep calling me? I have no connection to them or their services. You would think in a company's quest for Positive Customer Service they would actually try to achieve a positive approach to doing so.
