Someone somewhere has somehow got a hold of my number and boy oh boy has my phone been ringing nonstop for a week! Portfolio Recovery apparently thinks me a fool to fall for their unscrupulous ways. Idiots. They've called from 4 different numbers in the last week, never leaving a message and I never call the number back. Always check online for any feedback that you can find for an unknown number. PR is a terrible company that has a very bad reputation for using illegal methods to try and collect on Zombie Debt. The LAW allows you relief from such collections once it is time-barred and paying them anything at all is just foolish.
These scums of the earth, and I'm being 'nice', are trying to collect on an "alleged debt" from 1998. First off, the state I live in has a 7 year statue of limitations on the collection of old debts. And secondly, it was never a valid debt! Amazingly, this is the 2nd 'collection agency' that has made this attempt on the same "alleged debt". These people use techniques that evidently are working on some, or they wouldn't be doing it...
