Rec'd call from 732-837-9166. Female left a message (addressed to my spouse) that they were an 'independent process server' for 'Sussex City County' and that they will be arriving at our home tomorrow afternoon to serve documents. If we are not there with proper ID they will be forced to go to his place of employment to serve him there. Caller left a call back number of 443-203-1929 and a case number. Both of these area codes are in the northeast, we are in the south. I blocked my number and called the callback number -- the phone only rang and rang with no answer.
I suspect that this is a bill collector who is just calling everyone with the same (fairly rare) name hoping that they'll get a call back leaving such a message. I have no idea. Personally, we are responsible people with no overdue bills, etc. or any plausible reason why we should be "served papers". And besides, since when do process servers call to give you a heads up that they are coming? I think that's like the opposite of how they work.
Got my call from this spammer this evening. Something about serving papers tomorrow lol, a complaint had been taken out lol. Left a number to call back and also told me I'd been served, what dinner? Blocked!
I got the same message twice today on my desktop computer about a trojan horse virus on my PC and to not shut down my computer but to call the microsoft service (800-308-3006, 732-837-9166; and Estella @ 844-810-8570) to unblock my computer. Both times i could hardly understand what they were saying other than wanting to access my computer to unblock it. I refused their service as it just didn't sound safe nor did they sound like a legit company/service. I scanned my computer w/ Norton and found no viruses, then shut down and restarted.
