Called me saying my computer was infected, said they could fix it for 99.99 I said not interested, they then called back and said are you going to pay it? They have called numerous times over the last few days.
I have been getting SO many calls - all with Indian accents. One call I received (not from this number however) I told the person to take my phone number off your call list. He said he would get fired. I asked for his supervisor - his English was even worse. Not sure if I got anywhere. I am just not going to answer any of these calls from strange numbers. I think somehow they get a phone number in the US but they are actually calling from India and it gets rerouted somehow. Then there are the phone calls with the numbers shortened, so you have no way to identify.
Same people call over and over , reported them to the FTC with the numerous spoofed numbers ,some calls sound like magic jack , had the fcc put a line trace on my phone to try and track this scum down, waiting for results.
I asked one caller who said he was calling from windows what operating system on my computer was infected he said windows ,I asked which one ,he said xp ,I said you're wrong, he then hung up,,, another call I answered te phone and said FDI field office special agent johnson speaking and they hung up, after that they didn't call for about 3 weeks.
Just recieved a call from 732-873-8647. A Indian man, claiming the alias "Steve Smith" said that my email and personal info had been compromised. I demanded the name of his company and his first and last name. And I demanded a phone number and he prentended to not hear and promptly hung up. I smell a scam.
