A pleasant woman asked for my wife by her first name, but proceeded to speak with me in her absence.

The woman explained they are a charity for children with cancer and asked if they were to "...send an envelope, would I make a small donation?"

Maybe they are a charitable organization, maybe they are scammers. Judging by the variety of calls I see listed on this web page with the same "Vonage" Caller ID, I really don't trust anybody who dials me. I politely refused and she wished me a good day.

Thanks to Google Voice ( www.google.com/voice ) I usually record our conversation on calls like these on my Spam Calls web page:

Unfortunately, this call didn't come in on the Google number so I couldn't record it.

This is all puzzling to me. I got a call from this ph # this am--caller id says "children's cancer"

Not vonage, obviously a scam, as I have nothing to do with either place-- Beware!

I got a call from this number today, and the caller ID read Children's Cancer! Disgusting people, using this to fraud people.

The call comes in as Vonage the person said is was for a charity. I stated my number was private and to not call me again. She out shouted me and said it is legal for charities to call I firmly stated Do not call me and advised I would report the number.

This number appeared on our caller ID as Children's Cancer.  I can only imagine how bad this call would have been had I bothered to pick up.
