.... Yet another scam number that keeps th suffix but changes the prefix or area code. I,didn't answer, and it hung up five seconds into my outgoing message.
Yep... Yep... Yep... I called them from my burner cell phone, and I was right. It's the same scammer brace company that calls us all, repeatedly. Don't let them prey upon your pain. The only way they can get Medicare to pay for it, is for you to see a doc to write a scrip for DME (durable medical equipment). And all doctors already have braces in stock, orthotists and physical therapists to fit you properly if your actually need one. So you'd see a doc anyway, with either brace. You should try over-the-counter meds and treatments such as ice and/or heat, too, any kind of conservstive home treatment first. These scam troglodytes don't care... Sometimes pain can be a symptom of something underlying that is far more serious, they just want to sell you a cheap brace and only delay a proper diagnosis. Look, I know docs are expensive, so if you do intend to first try a brace, go to CVS or Walmart, or a local medical supply company. No one in their right mind should buy a brace sight-unseen on the phone from a muggle. I've seen the TV ads, and the equipment is shoddy. Trust me, I worked for orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons for about sixteen years, these scammers anger me when they take advantage of people who are suffering. Take care.
No one can block a caller for you. You are the only one who can stop them - Do not answer unknown calls and do not call them back. Consider getting a call blocking device (or app for your cell phone)-they're available online and start around $50 or so. http://800notes.com/nb/search?q=call+blockers
