Unfortunately, if seniors were smarter today it wouldn't be worthwhile for these scammers to continue their nefarious activities. Fact is, there are a lot of dumb, naive people out there...of all ages; one need only look at who's leading in the primaries as proof.
Maybe this is how they make a personal income soliciting money for the Fraternal Order of Fire Fighters and keeping the majority of funds they collect.
