Oh this setup is cute: details of a DNC list workaround provided below
This company has called the house many times over the last few months. Decided to followup today, answered the call -- greeted with silence as has been reported earlier. Call either checking if I was home [muted] or the phone system quietly transferred the call into a waiting queue -- no on hold music just dead silence.
So I called the number back, this time batched within a phone system with audible menus, waiting for transfer over to a rep. Rep identified the company as Senior Care and they had insurance to sell and they would have a local rep call back with the details.
Here is the kicker:
(1) I returned the call to the company [~silence] so they technically did not initiate the call when I spoke with the rep.
(2) Their sales pitch will be thrown by a local rep "if I were to choose to be contacted".
(3) The phone number works and a website exists for this company in FL but who knows if this is legit. The caller/company is targeting seniors so this would be ripe for elderly abuse, esp if a smooth talking sales dude could weasel themselves in for a home visit.
Avoid this company even if they are legitimate, they are utilizing some (imho) questionable practices for an ability to call people on the DNC list. Reported to ftc.gov
I waited until someone came on line. He said hello and I told them they were on a recorded line so be advised you will be sued. Suddenly they hung up. Have not called me back in 5 days.....0h you may get some negative comments that you can't record. I just say if you don't want to be recorded, then they can hang up....
