Wow. A call from Virgina...with no more identification than just the name of a state. That information alone is enough for me to NOT answer. Most likely scummy scammers from overseas.
Want to have fun with these losers? Place a whistle near the phone, answer when they call, and use it. Or, play a recording of the Star Spangled Banner or God Bless America. Speak in a made up language to confuse the imbeciles. Better yet, play the theme song from the T.V. show, "COPS."
That works IF you want to keep answering more worthless calls. Doesn't matter what kind of a noisemaker you have, or music you'll play, you've got to answer the phone for any of it. Getting a number that's working is money in their pockets and makes up for anything you can say, do, or play. Have more luck letting your ring clear through than anything else.
A friend of mine said he placed a recording on his home phone of people screaming in agony. He claims that about 5 scam numbers have stopped calling him.
