A 22 second message was left on my Voicemail that consisted of "on hold" music. A recorded message came on briefly to tell me that I need to stay on the line for an important matter. They called me! Why put the call on hold?? Had I answered I would have hung up immediately. I don't have time for that nonsense. Either talk to me or don't call.
I did recently cancel service with Cox after years of horrible service. I did not pay my remaining balance of $55.11 because I received a letter from them stating I owed $5,511.00! Idiots! I already filed a BBB complaint against them. Thanks to everyone who mentioned Cox because this is probably who it was since I have no other debts.
Call several times a day, only leaves a message saying it is an important business matter, when called back, offices were closed and asked to leave account number. How can I leave an account number when I don't even know who they are or from what business. I have never had Cox cable nor do I plan to. Why are the offices always closed during business hours. Most likely a scam that scares people into giving information. Seems like BBB or some dinky govt agency could do something about these people.
Credit Control Group out of Newport News, VA. trying to collect debt that is WELL past the Virginia statue of limitations, check your type of debt and local law, and if they ever take you to court SHOW UP so they do not win a default judgement, and if your debt is past the time limits your case will most likley be dismissed.
