Sept. 11 - a somber day for most, but these con artists are hard at work.
Identified only as "California" on CID, I have no credit card balances to lower, and this is a SCAM!
Called an unlisted, 'do not call' list # as well). No message though, just a hangup.
I just got a call from it also saying that my credit card interest rates could be lowered. but they don't mention which of my cards. for me another scam.
I believe this is a scam. On Sat.9/1 at 1:24 pm I got a phone call with an automated woman's voice representing "credit card services" saying "your credit card" has "a time-limited offer of reducing your interest rate to 6%", then asking to press 1. I did out of curiosity and got a man with a very thick Asian accent, who wanted my name and my bank info. He would not tell me which bank or credit card company he was calling from, and got angry that I would not give him any info. He threatened that I would not get his great offer of 6% unless I gave him information that he should know if he were really calling from my bank or credit card. When confronted with these facts and asked what he was doing and if he was he a scamer, he hung up. When I tried to call back several times to speak to a supervisor, all I got were busy signals. I reported them to FCC.gov and suggest anyone receiving this call to do the same. No doubt these are either foreign scamers or a company engaged in shady business practices.
