Received a voice mail from this number. Some warning about this being the second call and respond or face prosecution, etc.
I phoned the number. It rang for some time, then someone pick up: "Department of the Treasury, how can I help you". Guy had a slightly island accent, spoke rather monotoned. I said, "I don't know, you phoned me". And he hung up.
I assume a scam. First of all, I have NEVER phoned a government office without getting a voice mail system: "Press 1 for this, or Press 2 for that, and "Please hold, someone will be with you shortly." And then waiting 45 minutes for someone to pick up.
The original call was a very poor-quality recorded message with some sort of "warnings about arrests and avoiding problems with the government."
I called back [760-284-3397] to find out who they are and they answer the phone "U.S. Treasury Department."
However, it was immediately suspicious because of the individual answering this number (a male who spoke very poor English) who asked me to hold while he checked my information. Although I had not given him any information, he apparently was using phone number tracing ... and was looking for someone I do not know. This is clearly a bottom-of-the-barrel-debt-collection mill fraudulently identifying themselves as a government agency.
I reported them to the Department of the U.S. Treasury!!!

This number is a fraud...I called it after getting the same call and message from them and told them I was the with the Feds investigating this number and the guy on the other end said - " who the F$#@ are you ...come and get me, we are in fact calling people fraudulently " If they call you ...they are worthless losers trying to steal identity and information...report them immediately as the FBI is no the case already.
These guys almost got me. I called it back after getting a message about this being the second time they were contacting me. The guy had an indian accent and became increasingly more insulting as the call went on. I went as far as going to the bank and withdrawing money to send in a MG. He demanded to keep me on the line while I drove to the bank. Before I left the bank parking l checked on my phone about IRS/US Treasury scams and chose to hang up. I then got a caller ID from 911 and the caller sounded just like that guy but claimed to be a woman and said they were going to trace my phone and have me arrested. I hung up and called the IRS.
