Received a voice mail from this number. Some warning about this being the second call and respond or face prosecution, etc.
I phoned the number. It rang for some time, then someone pick up: "Department of the Treasury, how can I help you". Guy had a slightly island accent, spoke rather monotoned. I said, "I don't know, you phoned me". And he hung up.
I assume a scam. First of all, I have NEVER phoned a government office without getting a voice mail system: "Press 1 for this, or Press 2 for that, and "Please hold, someone will be with you shortly." And then waiting 45 minutes for someone to pick up.
I got a call from this number. A recording from an Officer Jane Smith (how original), basically threatening me with an arrest and a Grang Jury pending. Was immediately suspicious because the IRS once sent me a letter several years ago saying I owed them $600 and I settled through the mail. If there was an arrest pending surely the US Marshal would be involved, someone banging on my door, as opposed top leaving poor quality messages. Ran the phone number later and got this site. I figured it was a scam. Wow, Jane Smith
