An automated voice calls and says: "I am officer Nicky Johnson from the Internal Revenue Service and the hotline to my division is 760-600-7249. I repeat it's 760-600-7249. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care."
This is not the IRS. This is a bunch of offshore scammers trying to terrify gullible people into paying money that they do not owe.
I received three calls; same day; on a Saturday .... Same message.... Phone number listed came up as a magic jack number. It, as others laid out, gave a message that they worked for IRS and not to disregard the message. Do not return call.
