This suspicious call has been calling up to 4 times a day for the past two weeks or so, but doesn't leave a message and even calls on Saturdays and Sundays. As I am inundated with unwanted calls even though I’m on the DO NOT CALL list, if someone will not afford me their name and number on my caller ID, I normally will not answer my phone unless they start to talk leaving me a message on my voice mail. Even then, unless it’s someone I know or they identify themselves as a company I do business with, I still probably won’t answer the call. I have in the answered in the past and have been met with F*** you and other foul language when I refuse to contribute to their scams, even from calls supposedly from the State Highway Patrol. I had my State Sheriff's Organization call one time and I requested that they just mail me something. As they never called me again, I've been a long standing member and annual contributor to my State Sheriff's Association. They send me decals for my auto and a monthly magazine. That's how to properly do business.
When I used to answer some of these suspicious calls, many times it may be a recorded message. I've even had automated voices that put me on hold when I answered the call. Also, the recording might give you a specific button to push if you want to be taken off of their list. However, those are used mostly to verify that someone is on the other end of the call and it will only exacerbate the problem with them harassing you even further with many extra calls. I've now learned to not ever let them know that they’ve reached a real person by just not answering. In addition, when a live person talks on the other end, I've asked to be taken off of their call list. However, the calls usually only increase.
This call is labeled as being nothing more than harassing.
I've been seeing many posts for different numbers claiming this exact thing, so it's more than likely just a scam. Block the number or just don't answer.
This number has shown up on my phone for the last several days. I answered it and someone name Caesar told me that he was with a company that I purchased virus protection from "last year". He asked me if I was near my computer. When I said no, he asked what would be a better time for him to call when I was near my computer...I blocked the number. Not sure who the person was, but I wouldn't think they would be calling me and I didn't recognize the name of the anti-virus software I supposedly bought. Not to mention I DIDN'T purchase it last year.
At 1:00PM pst, (1-29-2016) this number came in and was not answered, but they hung up as an ID recorder started. NOTE: The same number came in at 9:30AM today (01-29-2016)
The same here for me: Calls come In several times a day but the "caller" Never leaves a message! I will continue to ignore "anyone" who refuses to identify him or herself!
