I got a call from this number just a few minutes ago saying that I won a 1000 dollar shopping online and they went over the entire thing and then tried to ask for a credit card number and how I wanted to do the payments. I told them I wasnt sure what i wanted to do with it and I did not want any magazines and if i could call them back. They said alright and hung up immediatly. Most defently a scam I do not know how they got my number.
Like Amy, I totally fell for this before doing the math. I called the 1 800 number listed above and was given the following number to call.... 1-888-906-0159.
I called within an hour of being stupid and giving them my info. The lady on the other end of the call said that she would take care of it but somebody would be calling in the next several weeks to discuss? Did anybody else get this reply????
They're still at it. I just received a call from a Publisher's Service that I won a $1000 dollar shopping spree online for being a good customer. She then started to ask me personal info. I asked more than once what publishing service she was with, and she would only say Publisher's Service. I told her I was not comfortable giving out my personal info over the phone. I decided to call the number that appeared on my phone and track it thru GOOGLE (thank God for GOOGLE). When I redialed the number she called on, I got a recording from the Midwest Incorporated Call Back Line, saying that my number has be deleted from the system. The Federal Gov. really needs to do something about these CON ARTIST.
