We have United Health Care (they suck) and this was one of those 'we want to help you manage your health' things. They have someone reviewing medical records then have some people call you and explain what the nature of the call is and hand you off to an RN who will discuss your illness or injury and offer ways to help manage it.
My issues are due to bad knees, multiple knee surgeries and unless they can give me good knees, they can't help!
What a scammer, and i must say one of the better ones because:
1) They are the first to ever get through to me because I never answer the phone for unknown or suspicious caller-id's. 2) This one said Optum, and my husband got tricked (we use Optum-RX and he answered it.) When they asked for me, I got on the phone. A nice young woman started telling that she wanted to check up on my health and...I said check WHAT about my health? She said just to see how you're doing. She said that after she asked a few questions, the nurse will come on the line to speak to you and I asked WHY? The more I probed, the more trouble she had being specific, and the less sense she made. I said "Go ahead...ask your questions. She said that before she did, she had to know my address and something else (wasn't my social), and I said: You know, I don't want to do this." And she said okay. It was a scam, and the Optum part pulled my husband in. Grrrrr! They are now blocked by my Phone Tray, Of course, now that they know my number is "live' and functional, they will continue to call me with a lot of morphed numbers and fake caller id's! And they will probably sell my "live" numbe to affiliates or other scammer altogether. AI YI YI!!. I have gone to such lengths not to answer their calls. Oh well... :(
