Just got a call from this [***] as well, claiming I owed Back Alimony and that they had a court order so they were going to just take it from my Disability. Sorry to inform this idiot, I know for a FACT they can't garnish out of Social Security. He threatened me with it again and just hung up on me like he'd been trying to deal with me before which he hasn't. I happen to live in a state that only garnishes Child Support and Taxes so this guy is S**T OUT OF LUCK! I do recall some guy calling me about 5 tears ago with the same crap and the same result. NOTHING. Don't let them get you all worked up folks, they want to intimidate you into an agreement but if they could have gotten it any other way they wouldn't be calling you. I know for a fact my Daughter's baby daddy falls behind in Child Support they subpoena his [***] right to court demanding he show cause for missing his payments. These guys are nothing more than scam artists just like other collection agencies, they find bad debt somewhere (valid or invalid doesn't matter), get the debt for pennies on the dollar then try to get you to pay them for it. Sad people can't come up with a better way to make a living.
Of course he wants you to pay HIM just like when I told him my income had changed and was not able to make the payments as specified in the original order, he said "That could be worked out". Really now... This guy has a Court Order he's going to enforce but can change the terms in it???? NICE TRY.
