I have been called daily by someone from this number for almost a month. I happened to be home and answered today. The person stated they were with the Indiana State Police and they were raising money for The Indiana Troopers Association. Well thats just great. My tax dollars and speeding tickets for 2009 just weren't enough for these money hungry azzholes !!!
Charities, even the fake ones, are exempt from the Do Not Call List law.
These calls are from a scammer. Typically they call one small rural police department, talk to one over-worked clerk, and get permission to raise money in the name of the "police". They give That police department $100. They keep the rest of the money - often thousands of dollars.
These calls are not from the Indiana State Troopers and they should not be getting the backlash of the annoying calls.They are from a non-profit co.Don't hold the troopers accountable for them they are to busy writing tickets and keeping the public safe(most of them at least).Know a trooper who gets the same calls and he does not like it as well!
