My mother orginally received a call from them stating they were going to take us to court for an unpaid balance. I called the number she gave me (888)234-6316 and nobody picked up, just went straight to voicemail. I called a few days later and they said they had no info. with my name. Later, my mother recieves another call at her job stating they want to speak with me. I call them back and now they have info on me. They wanted me to tell them my social which I refused so I was then advised that if I did not take care of the balance, their law office was going to take me to court and my mother and I would face wage garnishments and a judgement on our credit reports. I asked them for their business license #, an email address or something that showed they were a law firm and I continued to get the run around.
They continue to contact my mother's place of employment so I just recently filed a complaint with the FTC because they have been misrepresenting themselves as law firms, attorneys, and government officials and that is illegal.
Not to mention, they refuse to send any information to validify this debt which I know for a fact is incorrect because I settled with this particular creditor 2 years ago and NRC is trying to recover the remaining balance.
Do not pay them anything or provide them with any information. Trust me, if your going to be sued by a creditor, you will receive something in the mail. Don't fall for their tactics. Don't let them scare you.
I have no idea who these people are or how they got my cell phone number. I just happened, out of curiousity, googled the phone # 770.234.0101 and found this site.
This company keeps calling me claiming to be a debt collector with a name that is not mine.. Even when I let them know I was not the person they are looking for they keep calling.. It's to much... The phone # I have isn't that old since I only have it 6 months.. Sounds like it's not my problem..
A man called asking for my deceased mother (of 5 years). When I told him she had passed away he laughed and said "my condolences" then asked to speak to my step father who hasn't lived here for 5 years. Wouldn't tell me who he was so I hung up.

He just did it again, not 3 minutes later. Called and when I answered he said "Hi (My mothers name)" Went through the same thing, this time he was pushy about my mother. Is there anyway I can report this somewhere as a call causing distress?
