I received a call tonight, Conyers, Ga offering to let me pay $800 right then or be taken to court for a $350 pay day loan I took out in 2009. I actually did have one in 2009 that I'd paid back $500 to back then and now she wanted $800 for whatever reason! I told her she was nuts and some other choice words and she said she'd see me in court then! Problem for her is payday loans became illegal in my state in 2007 so they did an legal loan in 2009 with me so court probably isn't a good place for them to be. There's a possibility they're called Assured Credit Services but I'm still researching.
Received a voicemail threatening legal action towards me at my home or place of employment if I didnt call them back - I will never call these messages back. I made that mistake over a year ago and the scammers harassed me over 100 times a day. NEVER call these people back, even from a different number because they will continue to call and harass!! Its all a scam - I filed bankruptcy 2 years ago and got married a year ago so anyone that is calling me by my old last name I know is bogus.....I am up to date on all bills!
Received a message from these idiots - a recorded one that stated I better call back or they would take further legal action. I have been receiving these type of phone calls all week, all from different numbers and all using my maiden name. I have been married for almost 9 years and haven't gone by my maiden name since then. This crap has got to stop. I have no old debt that I owe and paid an old credit card debt 2x because of a scam like this. I will not call back today or ever! Caller ID says Conyers, GA but no company name is identified in their message.
Received a voicemail with the option to press 1 to speak with someone. I spoke to a Ruby(?), she said her name really fast. She told me that she is from a pre-trial arbitration company and that I am being taken to court for a pay day loan. The loan was apparently taken out in April 2010 from a company called Access Processing. I informed her that was not correct because I had not taken out a pay day loan in approximately 10 years. I also informed her that I had not received any collection calls or notices. She told me that their office does not send notifications and that this was a courtesy call. I told her that I recently checked my credit report and this information is not listed. The woman had my full SSN, previous bank info and the city, state and zip for the address that I lived at about 10 years ago. She basically told me to fax proof that I never took out a loan and that I had 24 hours to do it or they were filing with the court.

She has it backwards. You do not have to prove you never took out a loan. THEY have to prove several things (keep reading).
A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:
* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]
Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via Green Dot, MoneyGram, Western Union, prepaid gift card or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

Called both my son's cell phone and mine. Left a message on his, then called mine. I pressed one for a live person, she said there was legal action pending and asked me to verify my social security number - which SHE recited to Me!
I filed a police report, but even the officer said not much can be done, just watch your credit.
