I received a call tonight, Conyers, Ga offering to let me pay $800 right then or be taken to court for a $350 pay day loan I took out in 2009. I actually did have one in 2009 that I'd paid back $500 to back then and now she wanted $800 for whatever reason! I told her she was nuts and some other choice words and she said she'd see me in court then! Problem for her is payday loans became illegal in my state in 2007 so they did an legal loan in 2009 with me so court probably isn't a good place for them to be. There's a possibility they're called Assured Credit Services but I'm still researching.
They ID themselves as "pre-trial processing". No other name. Lady I talked to indicated she was in Conyers Georgia but that her company has "48 other locations." Right. "Pre-trial processing is just debt scammer double-talk for debt collector.
They called my ex-husband last night and he called me. I called to see what it was about. She kept telling me she was taking me to court for unpaid title loan that i did on line in 2009. I told her to send me in the mail proof. She just said she would be mailing me a summins to go to court. I'm worred now, that they may use my phone number for other reasons to get more info. How do they get your ss #? This is crazy.
These idiots called today "Saturday" and left the following message:
"Immediately upon receiving this message and refer to claim number 147875. Your failure to contact my office may result in further action being taken against being taken against you at your place of employment or residence. If you wish to avoid these proceedings press 1 now to speak to a claim rep or call us at 1-770-648-1487 immediately."
Notice they don't start by saying what company is calling. Is definitely a debt collector using illegal tactics. Follow SLIM instructions and don't fall for this scam. I blocked their number and 5 minutes later I received a similar call from no. 352-247-7398. If you shop at Target they probably have your SS#, phone and address. I just checked my credit score and I have no unpaid debts.
