Just got this call (they left a message) that they had a file with my name and social security number and needed me to call back another number to clear my name. They never said my name or ss#. I'll just ignore this :)
I just did, on my pay as you go phone! They left a voice mail saying my name, phone number, checking account or SSN has been linked a fraudulent financial thing!! I am sick of these people calling my phone!! I don't comet crime for money or anything!
I just received a call from these people, too. I had the same message. I was supposed to dial 1 to be connected their financial expert because my name, ssn, checking account, and phone number was connected to something fraudulent. I did not answer. I did not call back. I just entered their new number in my call blocker. These people have tried to use every approach with me. They have been threatening, saying a case is being downloaded in the county for fraud and whatever, I have been congratulated for qualifying for their VISA debit card pay day loan for $1000, I have been contacted by some bank for who knows what, and then they tried being nice saying I must have just overlooked paying them. What a bunch of idiots. It is the same people, same names, same voices, same caller ID, it is pathetic. These crooks need to be arrested and put away for a very long time!
I did too. Same message. It's so annoying. I am convinced I get these calls because i applied for online cash advance--more than a year ago! It's insane. The first few times I was scared that I was a victim of identity theft but now I just block the calls. My only fear is that some time it will be legit and I will ignore it.
A woman left this message: "this is private investigator Shelly McNeal" continues on to say that I have been named in an active fraud investigation and to call back immediately. (For once, no heavy accent, good english) I called back, woman asked for phone to check who I was. Had my personal info, and wanted over $600 to clear this up.
Like most people,I can't stand it when bill collectors call me.This was from the dismal payday loan period of my life. They were rude but I still paid what owed. That's the way I was raised. But I will never get another payday loan, as long as I live.
