These are criminals. They are spoofing the number. If you answer you are then transfered to a creep claiming to be from
Allstates Home Security which they claim is in Utah. No such company exists. They will then claim to be fronting for Monitronics, which is a lie and that Alliance Security will be doing the install. It's all BS designed to get you to cough up a credit card no.
Think about it. Would you feel safe having criminals that violate the do not call list and use multiple fake company aliases and lie about their business install a home security system?
They called and left message at 7:24 am this morning. Caller ID says EMC SECURITY. They left message - they will install for free a security system if you let them put their sign in your yard. They do have a website (I have no idea if they are legit though) but I did hear from someone else that while the installation is free, there is a monthly fee. They will charge you via your credit card for the recurring service. Kinda makes sense since they are not in the business as a charity. They want credit card info from you up front. NOT A GOOD IDEA. If they are legit, I would wait till someone actually comes out to install the security before giving out your credit card and any other personal info. You also would want to check them out on any Better Business Bureau website or similar sites first.
