Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately they keep calling from a local area code where I have a many friends who live and work. So blocking by area code isn't an option. But will definitely keep this in mind for future scam calls from other area codes.
the same for me too. they called but did not leave a message, but when I called back; it was a career advising center. I generally won't recall numbers if they don't leave a message but I got curious to know who this was; thanks :-)
I looked at a posting for a job and within two minutes I got a call from a career advising center. I blocked the number and two days later I got a call from the same place but from a different number. I blocked the second number and now this is the third number they have used. It's a SCAM for sure. I don't answer calls that I don't know and they never leave a message. If you do answer by chance they try to trick you with an automated call that is intended to act as if you are talking to a person. "Hi...this Barbara from XYZ company. Can you hear me okay?" Then a pause where you should answer..... then it continues the call as if you answers "yes'....RIDICULOUS!!!
If you have a newer call blocking device or phone, there is area code blocking. A lot of these calls tend to stay with the same area code for a very long time only changing the actual last 4 digits. So if you don't have any friends, family, or business under that area code then this works the best.
