774-241-1006 STURBRIDGE MA
Recording "This is a courtesy call to inform you that you are entitled to a discount on your Eversource bill." I never heard of Eversource before the call.
I asked where they were calling from, answer: America. I asked North or South America, answer Massachusetts, I asked where in mass, answer: Lynn, I asked why does my caller ID say Sturbridge, answer: your caller ID is defective. I asked what gave their company the right to ignore the do no call registry, answer: they are not authorized by the US government to use the do not call registry.
Glad I bought a landline call blocker, the first call is the last call to get through.
Bums. I live in the area and almost picked up the phone. I have several neighbors that have signed up for the electric company switch, and I'm sure that is why they called: to see if we are interested in switching our electric supply to their company. I wonder why they aren't required to use the do not call registry list. I do applaud your questions. Thanks.
"I wonder why they aren't required to use the do not call registry list." Because you most likely have given them permission by not informing your electric supplier that you don't want your information released. I would go into your account and look to see if there is a box pre-checked that allows them to release your information to these other companies. Also be aware that no matter what, they are required to cease calling you if and when you tell them to put you on their internal and external do not call lists.
