Called for brother who does not live in my state. Used the name of "Mr. Bradfield " left case# and ext. Stated "you have no idea what is about to happen under your ss# today at County Court house"
Same exact call received today as noted above. Called from 508 (MA)area code with the 774 call return number. Person's name was Miss Parker but same extension as others noted. Message said I had until 5PM to "clear my name".
When I read the comments above all I can say is my experience was pretty much the same. A "desperate" call. A "you are not aware" warning. A must have answer by 4 pm" warning. A avoid your credit being ruined" if you did not respond. A "frantic sounding" person leaving the message.
A person calling with a name noone could ever figure out. An "extension 2020" to ask for . The origin of this call according to my phone was 508-553-1912, so you may want to file a complaint there also. SCAM.
Same guy called me. I asked for name and address. Called back multiple times after he hung up on me because I said it was a scam. He gave the name lafeyette Barrell. He then only answered the phone threatening me and my kids. I called the state's attorney and reported. They are very aware of this scam. Please nobody send money to these low lifes. I've called from different numbers and they refuse to give me the address and hands u on me after he hears my voice. He has threaten to come and take everything I own.... Even threatened to take my kids. These people need stopped.
Same experience as many of you. Got a phone call from (774) 462-0899. I don't answer calls from people I don't know. I mean, honestly, half the time I don't even answer for people that I do know. Anyways, the voicemail was something about how there's a case against me and I need to contact that number to find out how to make it go away. I smelled scam right away and started researching, and 10 minutes into my search found this page. Glad my hunch was right. First off, I have never lived in Massachusetts, I live in Texas. Second, I haven't committed any criminal acts. People, don't fall for this. If there is a genuine lawsuit or criminal case against you, you will be notified by the U.S. Government, or whatever state government where you reside. You won't get a phone call like this one.
