Lots of call center background noise, then they called and asked for my wife by name, on my work cell. Said there was no one by that name, then they asked for her again. I said Nope Wrong number and hung up. Looks like they called 2x in half hour, but Google blocked the first call.
Ellen, The only thing that will stop any of these calls is to have the number blocked. If Cell phone....get your provider to block it, if there are a lot of calls there are apps you can get for blocking lots of numbers. If land line, I found the best method was to get a phone number blocker from Amazon. But always do your homework before buying any blocking method. My home blocker blocks up to 1000 numbers and my phone doesn't ring once. Of course you have to have caller ID, and I also had them start a number identifier before the call can come through.
It was not a ROBO call. Called 8:30PM - He did call out my name - I wonder from what list? I asked what is this about? And he said something I do not exactly remember, I think something about survey - I hung up - not in the mood.
Just got a call at 6:30 from this phone number. Caller asked for me by name. Said he was calling from WBUR and was taking a poll and did I have a few minutes to answer a few questions. I told him he'd have to be brief; I was busy. Then he changed his tone and said "that's all the questions I have; goodbye". When I tried to call the number back, a Robo person said that all circuits were busy. Sounds very fishy to me, and I've already blocked this number. I just wish I didn't pick the phone call up in the first place!
