My husband and I both got called today (we have two different numbers) from this number. They asked for money for the Veterans. We just say, "We don't give money over the phone" and hang up. Too many scams out there.
Got a call from this number today, allegedly from my town's veteran association. The man first asked if I was Mrs. XYZ--I said "Who is this?" they didn't answer, then asked for my husband. I said "Who is this?" they finally explained who they allegedly were. I politely asked to be put on their do not call list. He said he was from a non-profit and didn't have to. I politely disagreed that was the case and he insisted he didn't have to before finally saying they wouldn't call back if I didn't want to give and then said "Boy are you a rude American" and hung up. LOL What a scam. I've never met a legitimate charity or paid organization that calls for a charity that do not have a do not call list.
I've had two phone calls from this number! The first time I didn't get a chance to pick up in time, the second time I answered. They asked for a Louise? Didn't realize till after that this was the same number I googled a week or two ago. TOTAL SCAM from what I've been hearing from other sites. BE CAUTIOUS and DO NOT give out any information!!! When you call back the number is no longer in service or has been disconnected.
I got a call from this phone number tonight, the man introduced himself as a veteran on leave between deployments, whose task it was to get together a care package for our soldiers. I have my well known veteran's groups that I support, so I told him politely that I appreciated his work but I would not be able to support him at this time. His reply: "Shame on you" and he hung up.
I am flabbergasted and I will report this to my local police.
This is the second time I've gotten a call from this number. The first time around, the guy on the phone called himself Tommy. The second time the same guy called himself Chad. Total scam. I told the guy to go [***] himself. When you do a reverse lookup of this number, it says it's comming from "Paetec Communications" in Revere. Does anyone know anything about this company? Is the entire company a scam, or is it just some bum trying to scam callers on his own time?
