Got a call from 786-300-2335 at about 10:00 A.M. Central Time in Illinois. Computer voice said that my
mastercard had been locked because of security. Then it said to press a button. I thought it said four,
but I was fumbling my cell phone and did not hear everything clearly. I pressed four, then I heard a strange pulsing tone and the call disconnected. I checked my wallet. I didn't think I had a mastercard and I verified that I don't.
You may have been subjected to something like scam #24, as described at
http://phonehelp.2truth.com/facts.html
That site also shows how other 800notes visitors have reduced the number of telephone scams and telemarketing calls they receive. (Links to Amazon's phone blocker devices and apps, as well as government reporting sites are also provided).
Called at 12:36AM to say they locked my MasterCard due to unresolved debt balance, and to press 1 to resolve. I don't have a MasterCard, and never have.
Received a call at 12:09 am (no message left). I didn't answer because I was asleep and I silence my ringer at 9:00 pm. I added this number to my reject list.
Received a phone call @ 4:20PM MDT. Was at work and did not answer. No voicemail was left. I did not recognize the phone number, so I Googled the number to see if it was someone I wanted to talk to. Found this site and decided to leave a comment
